| Okay, so after months of not posting, I've decided to start a new blog. Yes, makes a lot of sense, but I've never claimed to make sense. Anyway, I'll still keep this one...just in case. Plus, I do like xanga, just thought I'd try something different. Anyway, my new blog is at: http://kspiceworld.blogspot.com. | | |
| Wow, I haven't updated in awhile...hmm...well, the most interesting thing that's happened in the last month or so is that I was hired as a speech language pathologist in the DOE. I did ESY, so I already did some paid therapy. Yea! I was also hired full time and I started yesterday.
I'm so tired. It's wonderful being a full time speech pathologist now, but I'm so tired. Ahh, and the kids aren't even back yet, so it's not even crazy yet. I just gotta get used to it, I guess.
So the big question on everyone's mind is: How's the wedding plans? Everyone asks the same question and I'm sad to report that they're not going all that great. We have a reception site, but we're stuck on a ceremony site. The site that we temporarily have on hold is nice and it's outside, but it's far away from our reception site and so far the service has been pretty crappy.
Off to bed, can't stay up late anymore.
| Yikes! So much has happened since my last entry. And most of the stuff that I'm going through now is...unreal. Let's see, since my last entry I graduated, got engaged, got a job, went to Vegas, started planning my wedding, and got a house. I couldn't even imagine doing most of this stuff a month ago and I can't believe I'm doing it now.
Oh! I got to see Mijares on Tuesday! It was so nice seeing her again. I haven't seen her for years. Hint Kat: Visit more! Nah, I'm kidding. I know airfare isn't exactly cheap and Hawaii isn't your favorite place in the world. Don't worry. Lance and I totally want to visit Seattle. Anyway, she taught me to knit! It's really fun and kinda relaxing when I don't mess up. The only bad thing about it is that it's addicting. Oh, and I see how it can be expensive. Kat: Thanks again for teaching me to knit and for the knitting stuff. You're so wonderful!
I've realized something lately. I am blessed. Truly blessed.

Today was such a good day..............
| Talk about a bittersweet ending. I am so happy to be done with grad school, but I'm sad at the same time. It's been a rough and stressful two years, but I've learned so much and I've made so many good friends. I can honestly say that I've grown a lot in the past two years and although I'm scared to be on my own, I think I'm finally ready to try. I wanted to quit so many times in the past two years, but you know what? All that crap about it being worth it in the end? It's totally, totally true. It really is a process.
So many things have happened since my last post. A very quick summary: I had my last day of therapy last week Thursday. The next time I "therapize" someone, I'll be paid for it! That was such a happy, happy, happy day! Oh, and Dr. Isaki took us graduates out for pupus and drinks on Thursday. That was fun. I only had one drink, though. I refuse to drink more than one (and that one has to be when I first get then) if I have to drive. The only thing that was junk was that not everyone was able to make it. I missed the Friends finale, but I taped it. I probably won't have time to watch it until Tuesday, so nobody talk about it!
Earlier this week I finished my hours! Woo hoo! I also took my TBI oral final and turned in the written portion on Monday. It went well, though I was having some slight auditory comp problems. On Wednesday, I calculated my semester hours. Oh, and I finished my paper last week (all 22 pages!) and defended it yesterday. I wasn't as nervous as I was for my proposal, but I was still nervous enough. But I passed! And I only had minor corrections for my final paper!
Today I went to school (for the last time as a student) to fill out my ASHA papers. It took such a long time! Yikes, several hours of paperwork. My head was a little sore at the end. I also double checked Kim's semester clinical hours. Afterwards, Cheree and I went to eat lunch and xerox our paperwork and our research papers for our committee members and the department. We went to turn them in and say goodbye to the professors. Yea, we finally get to call them by their first names! We had a lot of fun saying goodbye to them and the clinic, though I'm sad. I never thought I'd be sad to see it all end. I thought it'd be more like get the hell outta my way and get me outta here!
I need to make stuff for graduation tomorrow. Oh, and work on my resume. We're having another meeting on Monday. And graduation's on Sunday!
